WAIMEA — North Hawaii Community Hospital recently hired a new provider, Luisa Lucero, for its Women’s Center.

WAIMEA — North Hawaii Community Hospital recently hired a new provider, Luisa Lucero, for its Women’s Center.

A registered nurse and certified nurse midwife, she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northern Arizona University, a master’s degree in nursing from Frontier Nursing University and holds a certificate in midwifery.

Lucero has worked as a labor and delivery and ob-gyn clinic registered nurse for more than 15 years, and as a midwife for the past three years on Oahu. She believes in empowerment through education and specializes in breastfeeding support and problem evaluation.

Lucero joins a team of three physicians and two midwives who make up the North Hawaii Health &Wellness Women’s Center.
